Following the Prime Minister’s heavily criticised UK-EU Brexit reset deal and his party’s disastrous results at the recent local elections, many may be wondering if Sir Keir Starmer should be replaced as the Labour Party leader. Recent polling shows support for Labour plummeting rapidly, with Reform UK topping the results. Nigel Farage’s party has a seven-point lead on 29%, according to the YouGov poll for Sky News and The Times, yet support for the Labour Party has dropped to 22%.
Sir Keir acknowledged the threat of Reform when he addressed MPs this week, claiming: “The Conservatives are not our principal opponent. Reform are our main rivals for power. We have a moral responsibility to make sure Farage never wins.” However, it’s not only Labour’s ratings that have dropped, but the Prime Minister’s personal rating has left him low down on the favourability list to lead the party.

Recent polling from LabourList shows that former party leader and current Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary, Ed Miliband, topped the poll, with a net favourability of +68.6.
Mr Miliband was closely followed by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, who received a net favourability of +62.95, with Culture Secretary and former leadership contender Lisa Nandy in third place with +38.87.
Sir Keir ranked nowhere near the top spot, placing in just 17th in the Cabinet, with a net favourability of just +13.83. The Prime Minister’s favorability was weakest among 35 to 44-year-olds at just +0.76
The data, using Labour members, also found that nearly a third (31.39%) thought a new leader should fight the next general election.
