Dear Donors,

For the first time in a very long while, we are able to share news filled with cautious hope.
Our son, Kubuś, has finished chemotherapy and is finally back home with us.

It is almost impossible to put into words what this moment means to our family. After months of fear, hospital corridors, and sleepless nights, the sound of our child’s footsteps at home feels like a miracle. Even though we are still afraid—because cancer is a cunning and unpredictable enemy—we are allowing ourselves to breathe again, just a little, and to believe in better days.

Kubuś is still very weak after chemotherapy. His legs often hurt, and some days are harder than others. The doctors reassure us that this is normal after such aggressive and exhausting treatment, but as parents, every sign of pain still makes our hearts ache. We kindly ask you to keep your fingers crossed for our little warrior and to accept our deepest gratitude. Your support has carried us through moments when we felt we could not go on.

Until recently, our son’s life was full of laughter, play, and carefree joy.
Today, his world has been reduced to memories of hospital walls, IV poles, and endless examinations. Kubuś is so small—too small to fully understand how serious his illness is. Fate has been cruel, replacing childhood adventures with blood tests, scans, and a relentless fight for his life.

But we refuse to give up.

Kubuś was born healthy. He had never faced anything more serious than the usual childhood colds and infections. Everything changed in November 2023, when a fever refused to go away. For over a week, his temperature stayed high. A mother knows when something is wrong, and deep down, I felt it. I insisted on additional blood tests, even though the symptoms—fever, weakness—seemed ordinary at first.

The results were devastating.
His white blood cell count was four times higher than normal. We were immediately sent to the hospital with suspected leukemia. Those first days were pure terror. And yet, they were only the beginning of what was to come. During an X-ray, doctors noticed a disturbing shadow beneath one of his lungs. Weeks of agonizing waiting followed, each day filled with fear and unanswered questions.

When the final diagnosis arrived, my heart shattered.
Not even in my worst nightmares did I imagine that my little boy could be so seriously ill. Kubuś was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In a matter of days, our entire world collapsed.

Our son’s carefree childhood disappeared almost overnight.
The first two months after diagnosis were spent in a hospital in Warsaw. Treatment began immediately and aggressively. Steroids. Chemotherapy. Endless procedures. After the first phase of therapy, all of Kubuś’s hair fell out. His small body weakened, and the lively, cheerful child we knew seemed to fade before our eyes. The disease stole from him everything that should belong to a child—energy, joy, and innocence.

For three months, chemotherapy was administered every single day.
Watching such a small child endure so much pain is unbearable. How much can a child endure before it becomes too much? Even now, that question haunts us. Kubuś is exhausted, struggles with leg pain, and often lacks motivation. His siblings wait for him at home, missing their brother and longing for the return of our normal family life.

We are living day by day.
Doctors say there is a chance for recovery, but it requires further aggressive treatment—more chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and steroid therapy. Each step drains Kubuś’s strength and brings new challenges. And with every day, the costs of treatment, travel, and care continue to grow.

We don’t yet know what the rest of Kubuś’s journey will look like.
What we do know is that it will not be easy. That is why we humbly ask for continued support. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving our son the chance to grow up, to run again without pain, and to live the life every child deserves.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.
With your help—and with hope—we believe Kubuś can win this fight.

A Second Chance: The Heartwarming Journey of a Rescued Puppy.1681

On a quiet morning, a small, shivering figure huddled in the corner of an alley, barely moving, barely breathing. Its fur was matted, its eyes wary, and its tiny body bore the marks of neglect. To most passersby, it would have been easy to look away, to dismiss the helpless creature as just another stray. But for those with a heart open to compassion, the sight was impossible to ignore.

This puppy, unnamed and abandoned, had no voice to ask for help. Yet, there was something in its trembling form that spoke volumes. Moved by a deep sense of responsibility and empathy, a kind-hearted rescuer stepped in, determined to change the trajectory of a life that had begun under such bleak circumstances. With gentle hands and a soft voice, they reached out, offering comfort, warmth, and the promise of safety.

The first days were tentative. The puppy flinched at every touch, retreating to corners, unsure if kindness could truly exist in a world that had shown it so little mercy. Yet, with patience, love, and unwavering dedication, a bridge began to form—a bridge between fear and trust, between loneliness and companionship. Every meal offered, every gentle stroke, every soothing word became a brick in that bridge. Slowly, the puppy began to understand that not all humans meant harm, that some could be sources of unwavering protection and affection.

As the days turned into weeks, a remarkable transformation unfolded. The puppy began to lift its head, wag its tail, and greet its rescuer with cautious excitement. The once-distant eyes now sparkled with curiosity and hope. Fear, which had dominated its early days, was gradually replaced by trust. Where there had been trembling and withdrawal, there was now playful leaps, tentative barks, and an eagerness to explore the world beyond the alley.

This bond, forged through patience and consistent care, grew into something extraordinary. The rescuer became more than just a savior—they became a companion, a friend, a source of security in a world that had previously been cruel. And for the puppy, each passing day reinforced a simple but profound truth: that it was worthy of love, that it mattered, and that life could be full of joy despite its difficult beginnings.

The impact of such kindness extends far beyond the rescued animal. Those who step in to care for abandoned or mistreated creatures often find themselves transformed as well. Compassion fosters empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all lives. In caring for another, they discover the immense power of love, the satisfaction of seeing a being flourish, and the quiet joy of knowing that they have made a difference.

For the puppy, the journey from abandonment to trust is not just about survival—it is about learning to embrace life, to play without fear, and to see itself reflected in the eyes of someone who cares. Every wag of the tail, every joyful bark, every moment of affectionate nuzzle is a testament to the resilience of the spirit and the healing power of compassion.

Stories like this remind us of the importance of empathy in our daily lives. They are a call to action, urging us to notice the small, vulnerable lives around us and to extend a hand when we can. The world may sometimes feel harsh, but each act of kindness sends ripples of hope that can transform lives—both human and animal alike.

As the rescued puppy grows, thriving in its new home, it becomes a living symbol of second chances. Its story encourages us to believe in the possibility of change, in the power of love to heal, and in the enduring bond that forms when trust is nurtured. In the quiet moments of companionship, in the playful chase through the yard, and in the peaceful sleep beside its rescuer, this once-abandoned puppy embodies hope, resilience, and the profound beauty of a life restored.

In the end, rescue is not just an act—it is a journey of the heart, a story of transformation, and a reminder that no life is too small to matter, and no heart too broken to heal.
