Little Darrell is a courageous 6-year-old boy who has been fighting a brain tumor for several months. His life, filled with promise and joy, was forever changed when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. This tumor is not only a threat to his life but also affects his ability to do simple things that most children take for granted. With a life expectancy of only a few years, filled with treatments and therapy, we are doing everything we can to ensure that Darrell’s remaining time is filled with as much love, joy, and happiness as possible.
Despite the overwhelming news, Darrell’s strength and resilience have been nothing short of extraordinary. From the beginning, he has been brave through every test, every doctor’s visit, and every round of treatment. However, the toll of constant therapy and the frustration of being unable to do what he once could have is beginning to weigh on him. Every day is a new battle, and although his spirit remains strong, the physical and emotional exhaustion is real.

Currently, Darrell is receiving multiple rounds of therapy each day, and it’s taking all his strength to keep going. The journey is not easy, and there are days when he feels frustrated by his limitations. His right side, especially his leg, has been heavily affected. Walking, which used to come so naturally to him, now feels like a difficult task. His right leg no longer functions the way it used to, and he has to learn to walk again, one step at a time. But even on the toughest days, Darrell’s determination shines through, and he refuses to give up.
Despite the challenges he faces, there are moments of joy, and it is these moments we strive to create for him. Every smile, every laugh, every step forward is a victory. But with the mounting medical expenses, the cost of ongoing treatments, and the emotional toll this journey takes on his family, it has become clear that Darrell’s loved ones cannot do this alone.

This is where we need your help. We are asking for donations to ensure that Darrell’s condition is treated and that his life, however long it may be, is filled with the comfort, joy, and love he deserves. The funds will go directly toward his medical care, ongoing therapy, transportation costs to and from hospital appointments, and any support his family needs to help Darrell live his life to the fullest. With your support, we can help ensure that Darrell’s days are not filled with just medical treatments but with the joy of being a child, of playing, laughing, and making memories.
Darrell’s mother and family are working tirelessly to be there for him. But with every day that passes, they face the heart-wrenching reality of balancing their support for Darrell with the financial burden this battle has placed on them. It has been incredibly difficult for Darrell’s mother, who wants nothing more than to be by his side at all times, but she’s also faced with the pressure of providing for her family. She has had to take time off from work to care for Darrell, and this has added a significant financial strain to their lives.

As much as we wish this could be easier, the truth is, it’s a long and tough road ahead. But we are determined to give Darrell the best chance at enjoying every moment of his life. We want to make every moment count, from the little things to the big milestones. But to do so, we need the help of a compassionate community.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your generosity will ease the financial burden and allow Darrell’s family to focus on what matters most—being there for him as he fights with all his might. Whether you are able to donate financially or simply share this page to spread awareness, your support will help us continue to care for Darrell and bring him moments of joy and happiness, no matter how difficult the road may be.

Darrell’s fight is far from over, but we continue to be inspired by his resilience and the love surrounding him. His family will never give up on him, and with your help, we can continue to support him on this journey. We are deeply grateful for all the support we have received and for the prayers that have been sent his way. Together, we can make sure that Darrell’s remaining days are filled with love, hope, and strength.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.
Wojtuś: The Tiny Warrior Who Refuses to Give Up.3225

The name Wojciech means “one who rejoices as a soldier,” a rejoicing warrior. When my husband and I chose this name, we weren’t guided by its meaning. Little did we know that our beloved son would truly become a soldier, forced to fight the most important and terrifying battle of his life against a malignant tumor that preys on young children.
It all began in the last week of November, when Wojtuś caught what seemed like a simple respiratory infection. At first, we weren’t worried—he had mild symptoms, was playful, and drank milk normally. But one night, his belly became unusually distended, and he cried inconsolably.
We rushed him to the emergency room in Sucha-Beskidzka, hoping it was nothing serious. An abdominal ultrasound and basic tests revealed a truth we were unprepared for: a tumor in his left adrenal gland and two tumors in his liver. That very day, an ambulance transported our terrified four-month-old to Prokocim University Hospital in Krakow.

I still remember the words from the doctors, spoken with somber caution: “Wojtuś has stage IV neuroblastoma, a malignant tumor with metastases to the liver, lymph nodes, and bone marrow. It’s aggressive, and the chance of recovery is only around 15%.” In that instant, our world shattered. Our little baby, only months old, was fighting a disease that kills most children.
From that moment, our lives became consumed by hospitals, tests, and uncertainty. Wojtuś began life-saving chemotherapy immediately. The first weeks were brutal: fluid retention, constant diarrhea, weakness, and days spent in the Intensive Care Unit fighting for survival. We watched helplessly as his tiny body endured more than anyone should ever face at that age.
Despite his pain, Wojtuś was determined. Every small smile, every time he attempted to sit up, felt like a victory. His courage inspired everyone around him, from nurses to doctors to our family. Yet, each chemotherapy cycle weakened him further, and we constantly feared complications.

In January, after a brief reprieve at the Oncology and Hematology Department, Wojtuś faced yet another challenge. His doctors prepared him for surgery, hoping to remove parts of the tumor. But the results revealed disease progression, and we learned that Wojtuś also had a rare condition called VIPoma, which worsened his symptoms and made treatment extraordinarily complex.
His case became a medical puzzle. As the doctors explained, “It’s impossible to determine a treatment method; he’s an atypical and severe case.” Despite the uncertainty, they administered second-line chemotherapy, TVD, which Wojtuś barely tolerated. Each dose brought him closer to survival—but at a cost that no child should have to endure.
On March 2nd, our world was shaken further: Wojtuś’s little heart stopped for nearly five minutes. The room froze, and we clung to hope as the medical team fought to bring him back. Miraculously, they did. He survived, and in those terrifying minutes, we realized just how strong our tiny warrior truly was. The following month in the ICU was one of the most critical and formative periods of his life.

After leaving intensive care, Wojtuś continued chemotherapy, completing three more cycles of TVD. Each day brought new challenges: dehydration, ion imbalances, hypertension, and severe weakness. His body was small but remarkably resilient, fighting a disease that would crush most adults. The doctors often warned us, “Prepare for the worst,” yet Wojtuś continued to show his will to live.
Finally, after careful monitoring and a detailed assessment of his condition, the doctors performed a high-risk surgery with a 90% chance of fatality. The operation was intended to remove as much of the tumor as possible and to reduce the debilitating symptoms caused by VIPoma. Wojtuś came through it, a testament to his courage, resilience, and fighting spirit.

Following the surgery, he required another cycle of TVD chemotherapy. Subsequent tests and consultations confirmed the next steps: a second surgery to manage the VIPoma symptoms and to continue reducing the disease’s burden. Each procedure was critical, each test potentially life-saving. Our little soldier had endured so much, and yet he kept fighting with the spirit of a true warrior.
Despite all the pain, Wojtuś’s personality shines through. He recently celebrated his first birthday, a milestone that seemed impossible just months ago. When he’s not battling illness, he laughs, plays, and enjoys the small joys of life like any other child. His fascination with Mickey Mouse, dinosaurs, and music fills the hospital room with light and laughter—moments that remind us of the child beyond the disease.

His progress has been remarkable, though he is not yet fully recovered. Physical deficiencies remain, and rehabilitation is essential for him to regain strength and function. My days are spent at the hospital with him, 24/7, ensuring he receives constant care. My husband cares for our older son, Michał, who is four, and my mother-in-law helps whenever she can. The financial burden of travel, care products, and ongoing medical expenses is enormous and exhausting.
We are fully aware that this battle is far from over. Several additional treatments, therapies, and surgeries are planned to help Wojtuś recover completely. Each procedure carries risks, but we know that without them, this MONSTER will claim his life. The first time, his heart stopped; we cannot risk another moment of helplessness. Every day counts, and every treatment brings him closer to survival.
Now, we are reaching out to people of good heart, compassionate souls who understand that every child deserves a chance at life. We cannot fight this alone. Your support, prayers, and generosity can directly impact Wojtuś’s recovery. With your help, we can continue life-saving treatments, provide rehabilitation, and ensure that he can experience the joys of childhood that every child deserves.

Wojtuś is a true soldier, a little warrior whose courage surpasses his tiny size. He has stared death in the face and refused to surrender. He has shown more strength than anyone could imagine. And he still smiles, still plays, still loves life. He is fighting not just for survival but for the chance to grow, to explore, and to thrive.
Please, join us in giving Wojtuś the support he needs. Every donation, no matter how small, is a lifeline. Every shared message of hope strengthens him and reminds us that we are not alone in this fight. Help us give Wojtuś a future—a future free from the fear that has dominated his young life.
Our son is not just a patient, he is a little warrior who has already endured more than many adults could imagine. His life is precious, his fight is heroic, and his chance at survival depends on the generosity and compassion of those who choose to stand with him.

We know the road ahead is long, uncertain, and filled with obstacles, but we are determined to walk it with Wojtuś by our side. We hope that by sharing his story, we can reach people willing to help a little boy whose life is hanging in the balance. Together, we can give him hope, strength, and a chance to live fully.
Please, do not let this little warrior fight alone. Help us save Wojtuś. Help us give him the life he deserves. His journey has only begun, and with your support, we can ensure that he continues to fight, to smile, and to thrive.
