The tumor was inoperable, leaving a family filled with fear, disbelief, and the harsh reality that their child’s life hung in the balance.

In Warsaw, at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute, Antek’s father recalls the crushing weight of each conversation with the doctors. “My legs gave out beneath me, and my whole world collapsed,” he says. Surgeons explained that the tumor could not be removed, and that survival would rely on identifying its genetic profile to select targeted therapies, including experimental treatments that could potentially slow or halt its progression. These specialized tests alone cost nearly 6,000 euros—an enormous sum, but essential for giving Antek a fighting chance.
