There are no words to express the pain of facing a child’s illness, nor the grief of losing even a moment of their innocence. Klara, our beloved daughter, was only two years old when her world—and ours—changed forever. She had been running carefree on the beach just a month and a half ago, laughing, playing, and discovering the world. No one could have imagined that within her small body, a tumor measuring 11x7x11 cm was quietly growing, occupying almost her entire kidney.
The nightmare began the moment we returned home from vacation. On a quiet Thursday evening, as Klara was falling asleep, I noticed something hard on the left side of her belly. Alarmed, I told my husband, and we rushed to the emergency room in Ostrów Mazowiecka. From there, she was referred to the pediatric ward. By May 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., after an ultrasound, we received the words that would stop our hearts: there was a tumor on her kidney. We were quickly transported by ambulance to the oncology department at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw, but nothing could have prepared us for what was to come.

The days that followed were a blur of tests, consultations, and mounting fear. More exams under general anesthesia confirmed the unthinkable: Stage IV neuroblastoma, with metastases spreading to her bone marrow, femur, tibia, skull, and between the vertebrae. Our little girl, who had only ever known laughter and play, was suddenly forced into a world of hospital walls, needles, and intensive treatments. She stopped eating, lost the ability to walk, and began speaking with difficulty. Every moment we spent watching her suffer, waiting for chemotherapy to begin, felt unbearable.
Klara is now on her fourth dose of chemotherapy, with four more to go. This is only the beginning of a long and grueling battle. If the tumor responds, she will undergo surgery to remove it, followed by a bone marrow transplant, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. Each step is a fight for her life, each procedure an ordeal no child should endure. Even with the best treatment, there is no guarantee the disease will not return.

Beyond the immediate struggle, a crucial next step awaits: vaccination in the United States, which could nearly eliminate the high likelihood of recurrence. The cost of this treatment alone is nearly two million złoty—an amount far beyond what we could ever raise on our own. Without it, Klara’s chance to fully recover and reclaim her childhood remains uncertain.
What we long for most is simple: for our daughter to experience a normal childhood. To run freely with other children, ride her scooter, laugh with her peers, and feel the warmth of the sun on her face rather than the cold, sterile walls of a hospital room. Seven weeks inside those walls have stolen far too much of her young life. Her older sister waits at home, longing for her presence, hoping for the day they can play together again.
Every donation, every act of support, brings Klara closer to this future. It brings her a chance to fight, to survive, and to finally return home. It offers her the hope of reclaiming the life every child deserves—the chance to be carefree, joyful, and whole again.

We, as her parents, have witnessed a strength and courage in Klara that is unimaginable. Despite the pain, fear, and exhaustion, she continues to endure, smiling when she can, holding onto life with every ounce of her being. Her bravery fuels our determination to do everything possible to save her, yet we cannot do it alone. We are asking for your help—not just for medical treatment, but for the priceless chance to give our daughter back her childhood.
Klara’s story is one of courage in the face of unimaginable odds, of hope battling despair, and of the unbreakable bond between a child and her family. We ask from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Every contribution, every prayer, every gesture of kindness can help bring our little girl back to a world where she belongs—a world where she can run, laugh, and simply be a child.

Please help us give Klarcia the chance to live, to play, to grow, and to experience the life she was meant to have. Her fight is far from over, but together, we can stand with her, every step of the way.
